Jacks the lad!
World Youth Motorcycle Trials champion Jack Challoner and his family rounded off a very successful year of trials riding by staging an end of season evening on Saturday night. Dougie Lampkin presented Jack with his F.I.M. Gold Medal for winning the World Youth Trials championship. Yeadon-Guiseley M.C. top club official Mike Hinch spoke of his memories of Jack when he first rode in a Yeadon-Guiseley club trial at the age of seven. Beta-U.K importer John Lampkin praised Jack's all-round abilities and results to over two hundred fellow riders, guests. Simon Challoner, Jack's father thanked all who had supported his son over his formative years. World stars Alexz Wigg, James Dabill, Michael Brown, Zac Sherwin and many club colleagues also attended the function. After the presentation Jack Challoner took over the microphone to thank his Beta team associates and his mother Joe and father Simon for all their support as well as his Uncle Adam who drove him to events and acted as mechanic and minder. Jack will be eighteen years of age in the New Year and will then be able to compete on machines over the engine capacity of 125cc in National, European and World Championship status events. 2009 could be the year of Jack Challoner, best wishes from every body at Trial Magazine.
