Putoline Oils Telford Classic Show 2012


Everything is now go for Alan Wrights Putoline Oils Telford Show on 4/5th February. Hundreds of display bikes of all disciplines  range from exotic Road Racers like The Suzuki on which Barry Sheene won his and Suzuki’s first Grand Prix in 1975, to a 400cc  EMC motocrosser of which only 12 were made. A display of Frank Hipkins Sprite trials and Motocross machines, Beta trials machines, Whitehawks and the world’s largest ever collection of Husqvarna’s (which is now 80 strong

Off road stars are everywhere and this year include John Lampkin, “Badger” Goss, Greg Hanson, Arthur Browning and Andy Roberton each of whom will tell their tales on the microphones each day.

 

The trade stands in each of the 3 halls are virtually full up and this year there will also be a substantial presence for Modern Trials riders with an all new section that sees major outlets like OSSA and Scorpa UK (Nigel Birkett), Sherco (Malcolm Rathmell) Beta (John Lampkin) Trials UK, Trials and Tribulations, Yoomee Products and Trial Magazine all attending for the very first time.

 

Of course the major focus is on the vast variety of “hard parts” displayed by specialist dealers –ranging from Villiers, CCM, Hagon, Rockshocks, Bultaco, Fantic, BSA, Triumph, Yamaha, CZ and SWM. It’s a mecca of stock from dealers from all over Europe but it’s also a Show that sees an awful lot of buying and selling of machinery inside and out.

 

So hundreds of stands large crowds and a warm environment welcome visitors to the luxurious International Centre, just 1 mile from J.4 of the M54. Start time is 10am but early entry to the outside auto jumble is from 9 am. Entry is £10 with kids going free.
