Brown 5th in Japan!
Michael Brown (JST Gas Gas-GBR)
No.1 JST GGUK Rider Micheal Brown has just had a career best 5th place on day 2 at the Japan WTC yesterday!
A rare clutch issue on Day 1 put Michael in 9th place. This was soon sorted by ‘stand-in’ minder Jack Lee but the damage had already been done which allowed two Jap riders to get between Loris and Michael.
Michael soon bounced back yesterday when conditions were hard with the overnight and continuing rain throughout the day. His 5th place was 14 marks better than Nozaki in 6th. Loris finished 8th.
Yesterday’s superb performance lifts Michael to 7th in the overall Championship with just the final WTC weekend in France remaining in two weeks time. The fight is most definitely on because the points situation is close for 6th, 7th and 8th in the Championship. Loris Gubian is now in 6th on 74 points, Brown 7th on 71 points and Dabill 8th on 69.
Massive congratulations to Adam Raga who was in awesome form yesterday winning easily. He was a very close second to Toni on Day 1, some 32 marks ahead of Fuji in third!
Also congratulations to Jack Sheppard and Beta for winning the Youth World Title.
The weekend was also Round 1 of the Women’s WTC in Germany. JST GG girls Hannah Styles and Katy Sunter were 16th and 20th respectively.
JST Teamster Gary MacDonald won his 7th Scottish Trials Championship title yesterday.
