Steve Tattersfield pedals for charity.
Last Sunday Spen Valley MCC member, 39 year old Steve Tattersfield, cycled from his home in Liversedge to help mark out the Centre Championship Trial on Harden Moor. Steve competed in the trial dressed in his cycling attire then rode home again, a distance of about 35 miles. A group of twenty cyclists including Steve are in training for a charity bicycle ride. They are cycling from the port of Calais to the port of Bilbao, northern Spain, a distance of 900 miles. The party leaves on the 17th of September and plan to ride 100 miles a day for nine days. The riders will cover their own costs so all donations will go directly to the two chosen charities, Kirkwood Hospice and Cancer Research. Steve took a collection from riders as they entered the trial on Sunday and raised the generous sum of £172.53. Steve works at the Raven Sheet Metal Company in Batley, anyone wishing to support the cyclists can do so via http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/StephenTattersfield .
