ACU/TRC British Championship RD 6
The Yeadon Guiseley & DMC Ltd welcomed a good strong entry of riders to its Mackenzie Trophy Trial for round six of this years eight round series with the weather being kind all day despite the threat of showers. It was James Dabill once again the man on form whose sheer consistency is the key to his form which has seen a total domination of this year’s series. The only riders to get any where near the form of the current British champion were Jack Challoner on the opening lap when he lost six marks and Alexz Wigg who was just in front of “Dibsta” on the second lap with a score of five to Dabills seven.
In the Expert A class the young Jack Sheppard dominated just as Dabill had done with a clear victory over the championship leader Scotsman Gary Macdonald.
Darren Brice on the Yamaha engined Scorpa still holds the championship lead despite the victory going to Guy Kendrew who was in excellent form on the big rocks. For Brice he managed to keep a firm grip on the title lead as he beat his nearest rival John Crinson.
The support Youth class carries the stars of the future and it finished oh so close at the top in this category with the much travelled pairing of Chris Stay and George Gosden from the Isle of Wight separated by the Sherco mounted Richard Sadler, the scores separated by only three marks covering the top three riders.
