British Championship Rd 4 (East South Wales Centre)
Current British trials champion James Dabill became the first ever Gas Gas rider to win the Mitchell trial since it was first run in 1932. He scored an emphatic win to boost his chances of retaining his crown with his closest rival in the championship Michael Brown coming home in a lowly fourth position. After early morning showers the weather cleared to leave the trial to be run in excellent trials conditions. In the A class Jack Sheppard took the 125cc Beta to his first win of the year by one mark from championship rival Gary Macdonald. Darren Brice carried on with his domination of the B class championship but only on the tie break decision from John Crinson to give him four wins from four starts.
