Fort William – Right on Course

Preparations for the UK leg of the 2010 SPEA FIM Trial World Championship continue to gather pace ready for the event proper on 25/26/27th June at Nevis Range, Fort WilliamScotland. Section supremo Martin Lampkin, an ex World champion himself, has been visiting the mountain venue on a monthly basis for the last year in order to plot an interesting course for riders and spectators alike. Sharing his plans, Lampkin explained. “Nevis Range is perfect in every respect. The paddock area is superb and sits in the shadow of Ben Nevis to create perhaps one of the most dramatic backdrops the championship has ever seen. The first six sections, with the exception of one man made hazard near the start/finish area, are all located in the boulder strewn river, which is within easy walking of the car park.” “Then the spectators can enjoy a trip on the UK’s only mountain gondola, which will take them to the top station in a few effortless minutes, and again within easy walking distance of the top group of hazards. The view from here is incredible, with the top part of the river offering some truly classic Scottish style sections that will give Bou and co a very different type of test to what they are normally used to.” “Our idea has always been to create a trial typical of the region, very much like we did at Hawkstone Park. This will be the first time many of the top riders will have experienced this type of terrain, so I think it should create a really close and exciting battle, especially as the British riders will be more familiar with these type of sections.” Martin ended. For further details about the event and venue, plus to take advantage of the incredible advance ticket offers, where you can save up to £110.00 on a three-day pass and book VIP car parking, please visit: www.ukworldtrial.com
