Challenge Luscky
Robin and Sam Luscombe hit the sidecar trials championship trail on Saturday on the Isle of Man where they compete in the Peveril Motor Cycle Club opening British Championship Challenge Lusky sidecar trial. The Andy Smith Trophy Trial traditional kick-starts the sidecar series and Robin Luscombe competes in his thirty first year of sidecar trialling as competitor and series sponsor under his 'Challenge Lusky' trading name. Forty eight year Luscombe holds thirteen championships and a record fourteen Manx Swords of State. He has ridden the Manx Two Day Trial a record twenty nine times. Father and son, Sam, nineteen on Thursday, will ride their new 290 Beta two stroke machine for the first time. “I have ridden Montesa four-strokes for five years. I am very happy to back on a two stroke machine. The Beta machine allows us to make moves that were not possible on a four-stroke powered sidecar outfit. Yes, I am looking forward to the Andy Smith Trophy trial. The social side is also splendid and all the competitors get along well" was Robin summary of his new season.
