A.C.U. British Trials Championship


Yeadon -Guiseley Motor Club officials are now commencing trials course preparations for the penultimate round of the A.C.U Events Ltd Mackenzie Trophy Trial scheduled for August 2nd. The Clerk of Course James C Noble and his Assistant Clerk of Course Andrew Carter opted to stage the fifth round of the club's trial championship series on Sunday at Brimham Rocks to commence a break - in operation for the rocky sections. The areas where the steep climbs are situated have been scrubbed off last Sunday. The sections in the top woods will require plenty of strimmer operation to clear the dense tall grass. Mr Noble and Mr Carter have a twelve section three lap course under preparation. There will be overnight camping with a fee payable to the landowner by way of the Club. Observation and timing will as per TSR22A with one and half minutes section time allowance. The organisers list ten hotels/Travel Lodges etc plus Pateley Bridge and Harrogate tourist information office phone numbers for the benefit of visitors to Nidderdale. It is advisable to make early arrangements for accommodation as the area is a major tourist hotspot. The event will run entirely on Sunday with practice from 08.30 to 10.30. The event will start at 11.00. The entry list will close on 18-07-2009. No telephone or email entries will be considered. The Secretary of the Meeting to whom all correspondence must be addressed is- Mrs Margaret Carter, Hunters Gap, Thorpe Lane, Guiseley-Leeds, LS20 8JH. Entrance to the trial will be just £5.00 per car which includes the full programme details.  Dorothy Wardle's 'Dales Catering' will be in Parc Ferme for the duration of the trial.
