Dabill lucky at BC Mitchell

James Dabill, JST GAS GAS UK has just finished 3rd at the 4th round of the British Trials Championship.

James was confident in Saturday's practice and because conditions were dry the sections were a little on the easy side for British Championship status which meant the results were going to be close.

The club changed a few sections before Sunday but still only a few sections really challenged the top runners.

Section 2 was the first hard section and this is where Dibs was lucky.....He had an awesome crash when he looped the bike near the end of the section pushing for time. The bike 'bit' on the ultra grippy rocks and it flew out of his hands sending him backwards, maybe 10 feet down the cliff edge landing awkwardly on the rocks. His bike followed him and missed him by inches...very, very lucky. James was well shaken but thanked his helmet for saving his life or serious injury. After a good sit down there were no injuries, just battered and bruised.

It took Jack, myself and Ade Haslam over half and hour to fix his wrecked gasser changing bars, throttle, mudguard, clutchcase and clutch hose. This left Dibs exactly 1 hour to finish the first lap....race on!

Although this mega crash certainly shook him up, we are not using this for an excuse for not winning the Trial. He was only one mark behind the first lap leader (Wiggy) after the first lap and one infront of the eventual winner (Browny) so the win was still on...

On the second lap, Dibs fived (again) section 2, over balancing near the end and this time caught by Jack! He kept his head until section 9 where the big double step was so easy for Dibs and yet he overcooked it and fived!!  THIS is what ruined his chances for his 4th consecutive BTC win and he although he recovered well on the last lap the damage had been done and he had to settle for 3rd.

Browny was the better man on the day and was the deserved winner, so congrats to Punito and to Sherco.

Micheal has pulled back 5 points on Dibs in the Championship but James still has an 8 point lead..

Thanks to;

Jack, Factory Kev and 'Factory Ade' and a massive thanks to 'him upstairs' for allowing Dibs to walk away from a mega crash !

ROSS DANBY (JSTGG) was 6th and was close to 4th so welldone Ross ;-)

SAM HASLAM (JSTGG) was a shocking 8th ;-(

CRAIG ROBINSON (JSTGG) christened his new 'raga bike' and finished 9th.

DAN THORPE (JSTGG) was best gasser in the Experts in 6th place. Sampson 7th and Walker 8th...

Congrats to all GG riders at the recent WOMENS and GIRLS BTC2 and 3.

ACE GG Rider JOANNE COLES is 'onfire' at the moment and won overall last weekend beating UK No.1 lady rider Becky Cook by a whopping 19 marks!

Joanne won her class again on Saturday at the 3rd round but lost the overall to Becky who had her own back winning overall by 12 marks.

Congrats to Emma Bristow and Katy Sunter (JSTGG) for finishing 3rd and 4th respectively.

Congrats also to ACEGG rider Hannah Style who yet again finished 2nd in class to her team mate Coles...

Cheers

Shirty
