Hipwell road trial

Hi everyone....

Just thought I'd stick a post on this new MEGA website about our trial this Sunday, it will be 2 laps covering 21 sections & only about 5 mile on the road.  Andy & I have been out cutting the sections in for a couple of weeks now & Ive ordered the sunshine as well.......

Sections for the clubman route will be traditional straight forward stuff with NO tight turns (so no hopping around needed). There will be a harder route for you experts with a couple of testers....

The start is 11 oclock at a new venue & signed from Sparrowpit & Peak Forest, its enter on the day & only £15.

Please let us know what you think of our trail after the weekend through this forum! Plus of course we will welcome any willing observers....

See you there.

Re: Hipwell road trial

I am approx two hours thirty minutes away so hope fully will be joining you on the day. Word has spread what a good trial it is so i am sure it will be worth the early start, do you have a food van at the start and do we need extra fuel??

Re: Hipwell road trial

Hi wanna be....

The good weather is on its way & I promise you you'll have a mega day to make up for your early start....

At the moment we are struggling to get a butty van, our usual one has let us down & we have aked about 8 others, sadly none of them can do it, but we are still looking!

You do 2 laps of 21 sections & only need to fill your bike with fuel after the first lap when you go past the start area... no fuel is needed out on the course!

Everyone starts at 11 oclock at the first group of sections which is only 100yrds away from the start area, so don't be much later than 10.30.

Hopefully see you there!

Re: Hipwell road trial

Excellant trial and well worth the trip. If you want a "proper" trial to ride in next year keep your eye out for this one. I take it the guy in the Trial Magazine van is from the magazine?

Yes, that'll have been John Hulme. He was riding a Gasser. Number 140, if I am correct.  Have you seen the photos yet ?

Re: Hipwell road trial

I mean that is usually 32 degC, no shade and usually blistering the paint on the van, you will feel the heat......! The second leg of each lap is a good 19 mile run.....so thats like a single leg between petrol stops on SSDT.
I find the heat and the slimey black limestone streams a right killer but like I said its a good run out!
